With case going cold, police appeal for
anyone with a tip on double homicide to call
The Arlington
Police Department appealed to the public today for information leading to the
arrest of suspects involved in the brutal slaying of an Arlington couple on June
9.
Detective Byron
Stewart spoke with news media about the ongoing investigation of 72-year-old
Long Nguyen and 63-year-old Huong Ly (pictured left), who were local business
owners.
The couple was in
their apartment in the 3600 block of Waverly Court when they were slain. A
family member called 911 on the morning of Sept. 10 after finding a window
open. A Tarrant County medical examiner later determined the cause of their
death to be asphyxiation.
Tuesday marked 100
days since their deaths.
“We appeal to the
public and anyone out there with information to come forward or call the
Arlington Police Department,” Stewart said. “The family and the community are
looking for closure and (they want) suspects brought to justice.”
Stewart described
the crime scene as a “senseless act of violence,” and told reporters that a
motive could have been robbery because personal items were removed from the
couple’s home.
Stewart said more
than one suspect could have been involved.
Oak Farms Dairy is
offering a $10,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest
and grand jury indictment. Tipsters will remain anonymous. Call Detective Byron
Stewart at 817-459-5691 or CrimeStoppers at 817-469-TIPS.
